UKRAINIAN-CANADIAN MILITARY-POLITICAL COOPERATION IN THE CONTEXT OF THREATS TO THE NATIONAL SECURITY OF UKRAINE

The article examines the Ukrainian-Canadian cooperation in the military-political and security spheres at the present stage. The most important features and factors of bilateral Ukrainian-Canadian relations at the previous stages and their influence on modern cooperation are analyzed. Factors influencing the development of relations between Ukraine and Canada have been identified, the most important of which is the military conflict in eastern Ukraine. An analysis of the main trends and features of security and military cooperation between Ukraine and Canada at the bilateral and international levels in the context of current threats to national security of Ukraine is carried out. The specifics of Ukrainian-Canadian relations in the framework of cooperation with NATO are outlined.
It is noted that Canada is a reliable ally and one of the largest partners of Ukraine in the world, which regularly provides financial, political, humanitarian, military-technical and other assistance. In the context of the analysis of Ukraine's national security threats, it was noted that Canada strongly condemns the aggressive policy of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and actively supports our country on the path to Euro-Atlantic integration. It was revealed that the state policy of Ukraine in the military sphere, in accordance with the Strategy of Military Security of Ukraine, is aimed at ensuring sufficient defense capabilities of the state. The main aspects of Canadian military-technical assistance to Ukraine are identified and described, in particular, conducting training operations and missions, providing military-technical assistance to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. It is substantiated that the development of political and security cooperation between Ukraine and Canada is a policy priority for both parties. It is noted that cooperation between Ukraine and Canada in the military-political and defense spheres contributes to increasing the effectiveness of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and strengthening its defense potential.
