Abstract

In today’s international relations, one of the most acute and enduring conflicts is the Palestinian problem, the origins of which lie deeply in history. Thus, following the intensification of the Zionist movement in the early twentieth century, the active immigration of Jews began, which aroused dissatisfaction within the Arabs. The Balfour Declaration, which in fact proclaimed Britain’s support for the creation of a Jewish national cell in Palestine, further aggravated Muslims and pushed them into hostilities. The result of this policy was the bloody riots of the 1920s, the events of the 1930s. After the proclamation of Israel’s independence (May 14, 1948), the confrontation has gained new, more politicized signs. Despite the numerous peace agreements concluded with the participation of influential international actors, by the end of the twentieth century the Palestinian question remained unresolved. Thus, at the beginning of the XXI century, the Palestinian-Israeli opposition, having a deep historical background, remains effective. Despite the limited territorial constraints, the Palestinian question attracts the attention of the entire world community, in particular, to its deep ethnic and religious roots. Taking into account the acuteness of ethnic and religious confrontations in the modern world, their consequences not only for the warring parties, but for other international actors, the study of the question of the formation and development of the Palestinian problem is extremely relevant. The article describes the processes and events that led to the formation of the Palestinian problem, the objectives of the conflict, the main events. A comprehensive analysis of the process of formation and development of the Palestinian problem in the middle – second half of the ХХ century is underway. The essence of international relations and international conflicts in the interpretation of modern science is determined.
