Abstract

This article examines the issues of international migration trends and its directions. The development of each country significantly depends on the changes taking place in the world economy. Currently, a question concerning the demographic development of mankind is pronounced. Demographic problems are reflected in the migratory movements of the population. Migration processes are a natural process and are difficult to control. The main condition that motivates society to migrate is a type of desire for better living conditions. Modern international migration processes are developing under the influence of international relations, which in their turn depend on the international economy, international regional associations and globalization processes. It is the interrelation of social, legal, informational, cultural aspects, in which globalization is manifested, that forms a single system of world economic relations.

The geographical structure of international migration corresponds to the changes taking place in the economy. The biggest destinations for migrants are the developed countries of the world, including EU member States. The structure of international migration is presented and the stages of making a migration decision are highlighted; the migration processes of 2000-2019 are analyzed; the number of migrants who moved to EU member States in 2005-2019 in the context of integration processes and in the context of globalization is analyzed. Economic and non-economic influences on the tendencies of international migration development are analyzed.

The constant growth of international migration processes is gaining global importance. This is due to the global aspect it covers, the territorial-regional direction and the directly proportional connection with integration. It should also be noted that migration processes in the world are a fundamental component of globalization and integration processes. Given the issues discussed in the article, we come to the conclusion that historically international migration processes are both the cause and consequence of all world processes, and hence the cause and effect of globalization and integration.
