PROMOTION OF THE UKRAINE’S ECONOMIC INTERESTS IN THE WORLD

Abstract

The article examines the promotion of Ukraine’s economic interests, which are simultaneously a category of economic theory and political science, closely intertwined with the categories of economic sovereignty, econo- mic security, the economic sphere of the country and its components, etc. Protection of the rights and interests of Ukrainian business abroad should become a daily activity of diplomatic institutions. The role of every Ukrai- nian diplomat in promoting Ukraine’s economic interests in the world is very important. Nowadays, in the conditions of war, every business needs support and help. This also applies to Ukrainian businesses operating in other countries. Attracting foreign direct investment into the economy of Ukraine is also an important area of work of diplomatic services. The article defines the main ways of promoting the economic interests of our country in the world. An analysis of the dynamics of Ukraine’s foreign trade with the EU in 2018–2021 was carried out, which confirms that these indicators are characterized by a growing trend, and are, respective- ly, 154,88 % – for exports, and 151,22 % – for imports. One of the main economic events in 2017 was the signing of the Canada-Ukraine Free Trade Agreement. The prominent place in the above-mentioned Agree- ment belongs to the stimulation of the trade and economic cooperation deepening, including in terms of trade in industrial and agricultural goods, protection of intellectual property, regulation of public procurement. The current state of Ukraine’s foreign trade, which plays an important role in its economy, is considered. The dynamics of the balance of payments over the past ten years have been analyzed. The list of the main trade partners of Ukraine is given and the specific weight of these countries in the fo- reign trade turnover of goods and services is established.
