THE INFLUENCE OF NATIONAL FACTORS ON THE FORMATION OF SUBREGIONAL POLICY OF THE CENTRAL EUROPEAN STATES

Abstract

The article is devoted to the role of national factors in the international subregional policy of the Visegrád Four. It is studied the main geopoliti- cal strategies of the Central European countries: Atlanticism and European continentalism. The approaches to the implementation of these strategies are analysed: internationalism and autonomism. It is emphasized the changing role of national factors and their influence on the foreign policy of the sub- region. In particular, the main stages of cooperation in the Visegrád Four are highlighted and the changing dynamics of the influence of national factors on subregional cooperation in the Central European countries is traced. It is studied the significance of the change in the international policy strategy of the CE states for the regional European international relations.

The scope of knowledge obtained as a result of the study gave grounds to conclude that the role of national factors in formation the foreign policy strategy of the CE states is increasing.
