A generalized political analysis of the reflection in the media space of Great Britain of the consequences of Brexit in various spheres of social develop- ment was carried out and the influence of the media on the deepening of the country’s internal division between citizens who advocated different positions regarding the country’s membership in the European Union: «Re- main» and «Leave» was shown.
The source basis of the research is the materials of the top «business» me- dia of Britain («The Guardian», «BBC News», «The Financial Times»,
«Rolitico», etc.); national, international, foreign media agencies («Bloom- berg», «BuzzFeed News» Politics.co.uk); social media, primarily Twitter and Facebook.
It is shown that the problems of the post-Brexit discourse are mosaic, its reflection in the media space has evolved in the context of the actualiza- tion of the next social challenges. The media focused on the urgent issues of concluding a trade agreement and ensuring freedom of movement and travel between the United Kingdom and the EU. The socio-economic con- sequences of Brexit affected every citizen, so they often became the subject of political speculation and innuendo. In the structure of this media con- tent, two points of view are distinguished over time: analytical-prognostic, which dominated in 2016 – mid-2017, and pragmatic-factographic, which prevailed in the future. The «vertical» of politically colored media polem- ics between Eurooptimists and Eurosceptics that took place at the macro level (country, Europe, world) is determined; meso-level (sectors of the economy); micro levels (social group, individual, etc.).
An important component of the British media space in the post-Brexit pe- riod has become the so-called sectoral effects, which related to its conse- quences for the development of the health care system, culture, education and science. They had a cartoon character, because they intersected with migration and other social problems.
