THE GLOBAL WARMING AND CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACT ON THE EMERGENCE OF CLIMATE MIGRANTS

The main causes and features of global warming and climate change are identified. The natural and anthropogenic factors that influence global warming and climate change are characterized. Examples of climate change in different regions of the world are given and their consequences are described. The impact of global warming and climate change on migration processes in the world is analyzed. Various approaches have been considered to name people who move through climate change: climate migrants, environmental migrants, climate refugees, climate change refugees. Attention is drawn to the fact that migration processes that occur through global warming and climate change are primarily related to the internal displacement of people. To be a refugee you need to be outside your country of residence, so climate refugees or refugees due climate change cannot be considered refugees due to climate change. Examples of climate change experts‟ projections are presented both in the event of a worsening climate change situation and its improvement. The main regulatory documents on the fight against global warming and climate change are analyzed. The world community activities to limit global temperature rise and minimize the effects of climate change are characterized. A number of documents related to the analyzed problem are provided. The 2016 Paris Climate Agreement is defined as a baseline document aimed at keeping the average world temperature rise well below + 2 °C and striving to limit the temperature rise to + 1,5 °C from pre-industrial levels, and to develop recommendations on integrated approaches to prevent, minimize and eliminate the displacement of people with adverse effects of climate change. The need for immediate response to climate change and the consolidation of efforts by all members of the world community to avert this threat have been demonstrated. Examples of countries that have already experienced the negative effects of global warming and characterized by climate migrants are given.
